Rogueone (372), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA May 12, 2008 Draft@BJs: Pours black with brown highlights. Creamy off-white head. Aroma of mild vinegar, toasted sweet malt, however, this beer does not have a robust roasted flavor like I expected for a porter. Does not stay on palate very long, no noticeable chocolate malt flavor, and a bit watery.
alexanderj (1348), San Diego, California, USA Oct 12, 2008 On tap; was surprised that this had alot of beer compared to the other stuff I tried from them. Dark brown in color with a creamy white head. Nice caramel, cocoa and roasted malt aroma. Flavor was roasted with some caramelly elements; some weirdness in the finish. Flavor did linger for a while. Just ok MaltOMeal (327), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA Oct 12, 2008 On tap at BJ’s in Sugar Land. Pours dark with a tan head. Nose was of roast malt and coffee. Taste was also of roast malt and coffee. Mouthfeel was thin and watery. Nice flavor but not complex and the mouthfeel was too thin. ABUSEDGOAT (1924), California, USA Oct 8, 2008 Darker colored. Aroma is roasted with notes of dull chocolate and caramel. Light even for the style, I didn’t care much for this. AmEricanbrew (1016), Swamp Shreveport, Left Coast, Louisiana, USA Oct 5, 2008 @ Plano. Mahogany with a tan head. Rich, roasty malt aromas. Medium body. Hearty flavors of dark roasted malts with a cocoa sweetness. This one had a very fresh taste to it. tomciccateri (467), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Sep 26, 2008 On tap in El Paso, labeled 6.4%. Pours a clear, deep mahogany color with a tan head. Slight chocolate flavor, medium-bodied but with a somewhat thin mouthfeel, and a dry finish. Overall - OKAY.
