This robust dark ale is surprisingly smooth and drinkable. Caramel, molasses and chocolate flavors fill the palate. Its sweet start is perfectly balanced by a roasted dry finish.

On draft at BJís in West Covina. The pour is a medium black with a thick light khaki head and a couple spots of lace. The aroma is pretty bland. There is a light roast and a hint of chocolate, but thatís is. No sweetness, no depth. The flavor is thin and light with more of a metallic malt dominating. There isnít much happening. Light malts, a hint of chocolate, and a heap of metallic grain thing happening that doesnít do anyone any favors. The mouth feel is thin and watery with a light carbonation and a real lack of flavors on the back end. The aftertaste is metallic and forced chocolate malts. Interesting, but not a full time beer

Draft in a flight at BJís in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. Probably a lot better than the low ratings indicate, and was really pretty good, especiallypaired with the All Night Burger.

Draught. Nice and well balanced porter with an attractive treacle aroma. I went for a BJs flight and this was the pick of the bunch.

On nitro. Pours up a dark brown, nearly black, with moderate tan head. Slight smoky, roasted aroma. Taste is nutty with a slight smoke and coffee presence. Smooth and creamy from the nitro, but still thin and watery with not enough body. Much lighter palate than expected.

FROTHINGSLOSH (6846) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 16, 2016
Sampled on nitro draft at the Frederick MD location this beer poured a black color with a huge creamy beige head that lingered forever and left incredible lacing. The aroma was toasty and a bit smoky with vanilla and coffee notes. The flavor was smooth, toasty, and woody with vanilla cream and light fruity hops. Medium length finish. Moderately full bodied and very creamy. Solid.
