COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer debuted at Portland’s Cheers To Belgian Beers 2008. Made with wort from the Jeremiah Red and fermented using the famed “La Chouffe” yeast strain. Nice and spicy with dark fruity flavors.

On tap at the Cheers to Belgian Beers 2008. This was another of the beers that I picked up a lot of the artichoke veggie flavor in. I’m not sure if it is a product of that yeast strain or not, but I do remember finding this sometimes in beers from Tuck’s brewery and I know they used this same yeast strain. Soft fruity malt start, thin and a bit filmy on the palate, finished with some spicy hops. A touch acidic with a dry finish. I can’t get over the veggie thing, but a few of the people I talked to didn’t find it at all, so maybe i’m just sensitive to it.

Another one of Vasili’s divine brews offered for a one-time deal at Belmont Station on April 23, 2008. Bright red body with a glamorous stinky, tart body and a tiny soapy white head. Evidence of La Chouffe yeast was both quirky and powerful, but maintained a subtle finish that grabbed my taste buds and wrestled them into heaven. Finish was vinous and tart all the way through. Great beer!
