Combined with its full-bodied richness, this symphony of flavors is what makes Imperial Stout the ultimate sipping beer. BJís brewers donít hold back in their interpretation of this classic style.

Black in color with a nice beige nitro head. Aroma of roastiness and alcohol. Start was very malty, middle became more complex but slightly overpowered by the alcohol flavor. Finish was bitter and dry, warming. Mouthfeel was nice and silky.....hmmmm beer.

Sampled at Richmond location. Should note that they donít brew here. Pours black, decent tan head. Aroma is a big shot of chocolate and espresso. Flavor matches. Really rather enjoyable, a very solid imperial stout, with a focus on malt components. Slight pepsin. Nice stuff.

Maybe they donít brew this wonderful beer the same everywhere but, in the Phoenix area, it is very good. One of the best brews Iíve ever had .

On nitro tap at the Fort Collins location. Black appearance with a frothy, lacy tan head. Decent aroma of chocolate, earth, and dark malts. Similar flavor, but just tasting dirty and off overall. Lighter, thin body for the style. No.

Draught at BJ:s Restaurant and Brewhouse, Brea. Black beer with a nice lasting beige/brownish head. Roasted chocolate flavor, cocoa, tar, dark chocolate, coffee notes, some salty licorice. Roasted coffee and dark chocolate flavor, cocoa powder, licorice, some raisins. A bit from fullbodied, but i like this.

Draft. Dark brown with frothy tan head. Nutty malt aroma. Flavors of dark fruits and roasted malts. Full body and strong alcohol kick.

Draft at bjs. Zero aroma, strange. Looks like a stout. Creamy yet thin. Metallic aftertaste. Not very good unfortunately

At BJs in Boulder. Didnít say nitro, but it clearly is. Light aroma worth a very smooth taste. Taste is good, but not super interesting. Clearly well made though.

21st May 2015: BJís Laguna Hills outlet. Part of an eight glass flight. Last and strongest beer of the eight. Looked fine, ruby hue to the dark body with a good tanned foam blanket on top. Malty and smooth feel to the brew, however the alcohol is not hidden too well as the malty flavour is not deep enough to carry the 8.5% ABV. Thought the beer OK but preferred the PM Porter to this in their dark beer selection.

12 oz 45-degree pour from tap into a pint glass. Moderate tan head. Very dark brown and opaque. Nose is pretty subtle. A little malt and caramel. Medium to heavy body; fairly creamy. Taste is good. Fairly sweet, caramel-y, a tiny hint of nuttiness. A little strange bittersweet aftertaste. Overall a solid stout.

This beer is simple. It pours dark and creamy with a good head. The aroma presents a strong malt presence. The taste is heavy roasted malt, quite like espresso, with an Italian coffee finish and a bite. The alcohol is noticeable but tame. I will order it again.
