Butter and some toasty aroma. Slightly sweet, slightly sticky in mouth, some charcoal towards the end. I like it. Bizarre, but flavoursome. 3.3/5.0
Re-rate bottle at Kent BF 07. Rich malts, liquorice, decent prickly hop on end. Very coffeeish. Beautiful coffee flavoured beer. Superb, slightly strong beer. Smooth and rather luscious. duff (5407), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Jun 1, 2007 Bottle. Surprisingly very nice. Quite sweet and a little bit sticky. Some light soy and caramel, with some underlying roasted malt notes. Sweet, but not too bad in the end. The finish has some length. 33cl bottle. Red brown colour with a thin tan film. Smokey liquorice nose with plenty of fruit and dark malt, slight spice and soy sauce. Flavour is pretty much as the nose except some extra roasty and coffee character especially at the finish. Served way too cold which was annoying but once warmed up it’s lovely. Thick creamy palate just adds to the experience. Not as good as the stronger version in my opinion but still very tasty. jbrus (4305), Delft, Netherlands Sep 16, 2006 Updated: Sep 19, 2006Bottled, said 8.5 %ABV. Aroma of black currant and chocolat. Very dark brown color, light brown head, good lace. Sweet, laurel, licorice, moccha, roasted finish. Sandy, light sticky, very flavorfull. motelpogo (4124), Plzen, Czech Republic Oct 21, 2007 bottled. close to black with a purple tinge and a thin but lasting off-white head. aroma of stewed prunes, pear schnapps, chocolate milk. the alcoholoisn’t disguised at all but there are enough interesting flavours to balance it out - fairy floss, anzac biscuits, toffee, rum butter
