Mouth was generally smooth, some alcohol and bitterness lingering on the tongue. Initial flavors of molasses, coffee and licorice were finished with malt and chocolate. This strong beer hid it’s alcohol well and would pair nicely with a pot roast, parsnips, carrots, and potatoes. A 3.1: 6/3/5/3/14 beerbill (1989), Laurel, New York, USA

Pleasant aroma of malt and dates with a bit of earthiness to it as well. The flavor is again malt and dates with just a bit of orange detected as well. A bit drier towards the finish with some noticeable alcohol as well. An ok Baltic Porter. JoeMcPhee (5056), Jackson Heights, New York, USA

Aroma is sweet, earthy and a little bit boozy There is a bit of soft cocoa and herbal character. Very sweet with caramel and light milk chocolate. Flavour is quite thin though... pretty boozy as well. Not really bad, but not great either. PolishHammer (79), , Connecticut, USA

Alcohol flavor hidden very well. A very sweet tasting porter, with a lot of unfermented sugars. Somewhat buttery. IIt feels like 9.4 ABV after you drink one! Overall, a very tasty, sweet porter, with not much bitterness. danielcurtis81 (917), San Diego, California, USA

Alchol muddles the flavors a bit much. I guess Baltic porters just don’t excite me too much. Still a decent brew. Beardface (1036), Eugene, Oregon, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 19, 2008 Really dark black with a red overtone. Medium sized tan head. Very roasty and earthy flavors with a little fruit on the backend. Alcohol flavor is almost completely covered up and could have used a little more prominence to my mind. Still good though and would love to try more Polish beers! Ibrew2or3 (2848), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 25, 2008 Pours deep garnet with semi big bubbled tan head. The aroma has notes of dark fruity esters like prunes, figs and dates as well as licorice, burnt malts, some notes of earthiness and a faint hotness on the nostrils. The taste is nice with bold yet even with approachably smooth earthiness mixing with chocolate and burnt malts. Those flavors are followed by an under current of dark fruity esters that tie the taste together nicely. It ends with residual dark fruitiness but mostly roasty malts and fading earthiness. Very pleasing combination of notes creating a very tasty brew. Juelze (927), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA
