Pretty good porter, smokey and a little chocolatey, heavy booze doesn’t really show up when you drink it, not bad

Whoa! Nice and dark. Smoky taste. Very palatable for a 9.5% beer. A top-five lifetime beer for Mac; not quite there for me, but very good.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Daniel. Pours out a black color with a tan head. Smell is sweet and full of chocolate and dark roasted malts. Taste is sweet - too sweet - with a little punch of alcohol. Not something I would want to have again.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Half liter bottle from The Caboose. The porter poured a deep black with tan head. I tasted licorice and some sweetness. This porter was very smooth. The higher alcohol is well disguised. This may be my first polish beer. The medium body lager had soft carbonation. I was able to taste this on Christmas eve 2011 with #2 son.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
One of the best of the Baltics! Poured this one at a good temperature and with a nice sized, thick, foamy, tan head that settled down after a bit and some lace. Color is a very dark, but clear brown red. Aroma is roast, malt, cocoa, hints of licorice and molasses. Flavor’s very similar to nose, with slight sweetness up front, a little tang from carbonics and bitterness from malts, yeast. Excellent full mouth and perfect carbonation. Finsih is like flavor, no off notes, and fairly long and slight alcohol warming. Great Porter Beer!

From a 1 pint nine fluid oz bottle. Nice deep reddish brown color and very clear. The aroma is of licorice and very pleasant. The taste is a bit cloying but not in a bad way. Reminds me of a chocolate liquor almost. Heavy alcohol note although not distracting. Overall a nice porter that will go into the occasional rotation.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
From the 500 ml. bottle. The pour is very dark brown with a little head and pretty decent clarity. Dark malts are the lead aroma with an odd sort of Toffee mixed in and a slighly sharp hopped note. No chocolate or coffee but for a Baltic Porter, I guess there shouldn’t be any. Medium to heavier body. The taste has a strange malty character with a pungent but sweeter ending. The higher ABV is not very pronounced so that’s a plus. I prefer Ameican Porters over Balic Porters since they are by and large smokier.
