Love this f***ing beer. One of my favorites.
-Pours a dark black, rose and burgundy in the light, tan to white creamy head dissipates quickly and leaves a bit of lacing. Aromas of raisin, date, paperclips, farmhouse, light chocolate.
Licorice, grain, peanut, pistachio shell, metal, vine, and sexy sex on the tongue. Slightly watery mouthfeel, medium body, tingly in the cheeks, bold but subtle palette. Finish is half dry half wet, long remnant of nut and earthy grain, little beef. Rather warming, a solid porter. This is what I want when I want a porter.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pint bottle purchased at Sea Mart for $2.99 pours dark brown to black with low carbonation and a medium sized quickly fleeting tan head. Mouth was generally smooth, some alcohol and bitterness lingering on the tongue. Initial flavors of molasses, coffee and licorice were finished with malt and chocolate. This strong beer hid itís alcohol well and would pair nicely with a pot roast, parsnips, carrots, and potatoes. A 3.1: 6/3/5/3/14

The Black Boss Porter was a delightful beer to have right after my cheap fast food dinner. I was on a tight budget, and this $3 Porter with a 9.4% ABV was exactly what I needed to relax with after a long day of work. It wasnít very aromatic, but it sure was dark and delicious. I enjoyed how it didnít sit too heavy in my stomach after my dinner.

Even though Iíve given this guy a low rating, these BOSS beers are still fun as hell in the long run. Tastes of bittersweet chocolate and some roast. I also detect rye malt, but that could all be in my head. The best Boss thus far.

Cocoa, malt. Beautiful fluffy, fairly retentive head. Dark amber/Brown in color. Raisin/fig, cocoa, sweet molasses, coffee. Very velvety on the palate without too much carbonation. Thereís a nuance that I canít place... plum? Great finish. Malty, toasty and lingering. Fantastic.

A fantastic beer and one worth coming back for. Nice aroma with a full, smooth flavor (just a slight chocolate) and the perfect acidity.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma: best part of the beer: coffee comes through very strong with hints of chocolate.
Appearance: pours black, 3/4 inch white head, no lacing.
Taste: malty, chocolate, and coffee.
Palate: Good full mouthfeel
Overall a great beer for the price. The higher alcohol isnít overpowering in the taste.
