3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
pours with a head which quickly dissipates into a nice lace. smells bready with a touch of cocoa and sweetness. the 9.4 % alcohol is well hidden, heavy malt flavors are well pronounced. for $1.99/.5L bottle this is an excellent buy, and an outstanding example of baltic porter

Whoa! Nice and dark. Smoky taste. Very palatable for a 9.5% beer. A top-five lifetime beer for Mac; not quite there for me, but very good.

Sweet taste of molasses. Easy to drink. Little alcohol burn. Very good price point for a beer of such strength. Recommended

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Okey dokey, so the P00tz procured this bottle for a number of reasons and being a fan of all things "black" and "boss" he thought it impossible not to enjoy this beer. Especially when one takes into account that it claims to be both "black" and "boss" whilst containing 9.5% alcohol.* So here P00tz is with this beer claiming to deliver all that P00tz values and what does the P00tz discover? P00tz finds out the hard way that this beer is able only to satisfy the P00tz’s yearnings for sweet sweet alcohol. In short this beer is a boozy cascade of disappointments and as such is simultaneously reminiscent of P00tz’s life past and his glorious release.
*Pootz is also a big fan of alcohol!

Surprisingly little aroma. Sweet and malty. Definitely an enjoyable sweet beer.

Pretty decent porter, a little watery in the mouth feel, and the head isn’t as thick as I like to see in a porter.

Best bang for the buck! Got 1/2 liter for $2 (in a stagflation economy mind you). Smells a little like funky fish (but in a good way)? But when you taste it you will be pleasantly surprised by the coffee, brown sugar, raisins and malt flavors. Everything a Baltic Porter should be, love it or hate it brahsky! I’m stocking up!

Dark brown translucent color. Tastes of roasted malts and hops. went down well and the 9.4% alc was nicely masked.

Love this f***ing beer. One of my favorites.
-Pours a dark black, rose and burgundy in the light, tan to white creamy head dissipates quickly and leaves a bit of lacing. Aromas of raisin, date, paperclips, farmhouse, light chocolate.
Licorice, grain, peanut, pistachio shell, metal, vine, and sexy sex on the tongue. Slightly watery mouthfeel, medium body, tingly in the cheeks, bold but subtle palette. Finish is half dry half wet, long remnant of nut and earthy grain, little beef. Rather warming, a solid porter. This is what I want when I want a porter.
