’BFG’, The Crown, Nuneaton. Fresh on, clinging lace, misty gold amber. Bread and honey, vanilla, dusty apple and hopcone musty aroma. Lovely sweet buttery vanilla, tea, honey. Slick, sweet biscuit-driven bitter with soft apple, raisiny hops and yeast in the background. Not usually my sort of thing at all, but a beautifully nuanced Black Country bitter that turned my perceptions of this brewer on its head. Excellent.

Cask at The Corinium Hotel, Cirencester, Glos, 28.05.11 Pours golden as the name suggests, this surprised me by being a little spicy. There was some honey, a good dab of maltiness throughout and overall I felt that this was a very decent drop. A7 A3 T7 P3 Ov14 3.4
