Cask. Goldeny amber colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is caramel and crystal malts along with some wood, floral notes and toffee. Flavour is rather similar in a nice bittery way. A bit watery as for the palate.

Cask at the Pretty Bricks, Walsall. Poured a clear golden brown with a thin white head and broken lace. The aroma is malty with citrus notes leading to a medium bitter malty peachy flavour. The palate is super smooth. A really satisfying session beer from BCA and perfect for the fireside.

Cask at The Kings Head, Leicester. Amber ale with a hoppy honey caramel aroma. Very drinkable ale, warming with a lightly bitter finish. Tastes lighter than the 5% ABV.

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW. Clear, rich gold pour with barely any head. Toffee, sugar and ripe fruits on the nose. Light to medium sweet flavor, toffee and caramel, some sweaty socks. Medium bodied but almost flat. Sweet, malty finish with some bread and caramel. Alright beer but poor condition.

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham, on 28th December 2009. Gold with lasting white head. Slightly cheesy (cheddar), hoppy and herby. More like a pale blond IPA than what I would have called a winter ale as the name suggests but very enjoyable all the same. A fairly bitter finish. Worth checking out.
