Clear light yellow amber orange color with a small, creamy / fizzy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is light malty and light to moderate hoppy, friut flowers, nectar. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. MesandSim (4716), Highgate, Greater London, England Jul 20, 2007 A Sim rate (Cask at the Pembury Tavern): Smells of vinegar. Some bitter, off fruit. Fermented. Tastes like sick. Or those acids in sicky burps. Even Rudiger, full of flu, wouldn’t drink it and he couldn’t even taste it! chriso (4434), London, Greater London, England Feb 11, 2007 Cask (handpump) at The Market Porter, Southwark. Amber colour, with a modest off-white head. Didn’t pick up too much from the aroma. The flavours are a rather unusual melange of dry malt, spicy hop and crisp apple/pear fruit. All in moderation. Light bitterness on the finish. Pleasant enough but I found it a touch lightweight for a strong bitter.
imdownthepub (4311), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Apr 24, 2005 Cask Conditioned at The Wellington, Birmingham. Brown amber beer with no head. A sweet and hoppy beer but mainly dull. Toffee notes with caramel but little more to say. leaparsons (4180), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Feb 27, 2007 Cask, The Criterion, Leicester. Red/brown with a small head. Aromas are peppery and earthy hops with lots of sweet caramel. Flavours are sweet caramel with pear and spices. Brown sugar with floral hops. Quite Kentish. Too sweet for me.
