A clear brown ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a sweet coffee laced malt, light chocolate, grassy notes. In mouth, a grassy nutty chocolate malt with an oily mouthfeel, chocolate bitterness, herbaceous, decent. Bottle from Fairlawn LCBO in Ottawa.

500 ml bottle that I swiped from the OBAs. Deep amber brown pour with a thin white head. The aroma has light toast and toffee along with a bit of soft cocoa. Light bodied with a sort of cleanness and lightness that reminds me of some mild ales I’ve had before. Sort of a herbal/toasted component. A little bit of lightly woody hoppiness. Decent really - a highly quaffable brew.

A sasaparilla malty beer. Chocolate brown coloured body, little head. Pleasant drinkable, chocolate malts, nothing off nothing offensive.

Bottle [500ml]. Pours a deep orange-amber with an average size diminishing bubbly off-white head. Slightly mild aroma of lightly roasted malt, nuts, a hint of coffee and some mild fruit. Mild flavour of cocoa, toasted malt, nuts, a hint of coffee and some fruit. Average bodied. Pretty good, nothing mind-blowing, but an enjoyable beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle: Poured a clear medium brown color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists of dry caramel malt with light grainy notes. Taste is also dominated by some dry caramel malt with some notes of grainy cereal. Body is about average with good carbonation. Run of the mill brown ale with dry cereal notes.

Bottle from the LCBO. Ruby-brown with a thin but fairly healthy looking tan head. Aroma is nice - toasted nuts, bit of raisin, brown sugar (very slightly burnt), a hint of dried leaves. Flavour follows, with the toasted nuts being quite prominent, along with some dry cocoa, a suggestion of tart blackcurrant, and a subtly hopped finish. Body is a bit thinner than I normally like for the style, but still OK. Not the most thrilling beer - a bit workmanlike, really - but given the name, perhaps that’s fitting.

Slightly hazy brown pour, small off white head. Nice dark roasty, toasty malts. Solid nutty aroma, touches of toffee, and caramel. Soft mouthfeel, low carb. Medium bitter finish, great toasty, nutty finish. Quite satisfying, nice stuff.
