Tessic (918) - Brantford, Ontario, - APR 3, 2014
This stout poured a deep black colour with next to no head. Scents include caramel, burnt wood and pancake syrup. First taste was a little thin and the carbonation levels were weak but the real roasted flavour with molasses on the side. Finish is with quite burnt and a little sweet. Overall pretty good.

Bottle from my brother in-law. Pours an opaque colour, minimal to no head that is nothing but a ring, some tiny presence of lacing. Nose is roasted malt. Tastes sweet, malty, not much present other than that.

2014-08-01. Black body with a small tan head. 3+ Aroma is relatively mild, lightly roasty. Flavour is mild, dark malt core, light roast, muted herbal anise undertones. Average bodied palate, soft carbonation. Okay, not a ton going on but decent. Bottle from the LCBO, Toronto

Where and how: LCBO, bottle 500 ml
Aroma nice deep dark vibe, black molasses, ash, dark soil with licorice. Solid nose.7+
Appearance :
Top: flat, tanned and fizzy .
Base: hazy dark brown.
Palate : medium thinner with soft carbonation, decently lasting
Taste: simple made well. tad flat but with nice a la cask feel. Darkness not too dry , well rounded. Not too heavy.
Other notes satisfying choice.

bottle. Poured opaque blackish-brown with a thin mocha head. Sweet and roasty aroma, notes of rum. Full bodied, thick mouthfeel that finishes a bit sour. Flavour is smokey with some coffee and treacle notes.

500ml bottle. Clear dark brown body, small mocha head, poor retention. Aroma: roasted malts, molasses, chocolate, some nuts, soy, earthy. Taste of soy sauce, roasted malt, coffee, herbs, metallic and earthy. Unusual, but nice.

Metalchopz (2533) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 12, 2014
Single from the LCBO. Pours a dark brown colour with a creamy beige head, decent retention and some thin creamy lace that disappears quick enough. Roasted malt aromas at first, with notes of coffee, chocolate and even mild hops eventually come out. Smooth mouthfeel with a slight bite in the finish. The base of the taste is the roasted malt again, but with some dark fruit hints makes it taste like a porter, but the feel is not. Not a bad beer and better than I expected.
