Commercial Description:
Our flagship Belgian Blonde is a true Belgian style Blonde Ale; a light copper colored ale we brew it with Belgian Pilsner and specialty malts, which provide a distinctive yet exceptionally smooth flavor. A small amount of Rye malt contributes to the delicate herbal and spicy undertones. The yeast strain is also of Belgian origin and provides nuance and complexity. As is customary in Belgium, we use the finest Bohemian “Noble” hops which balance perfectly with the malt and yeast flavors. The results are a beer of enormous complexity with a wonderful, very supple drinkability. A panel of international judges apparently agrees; they awarded us the Silver Medal at the 2008 World Beer Cup®!

Bottle. Pours simple golden with thin white head, some lacing. Aroma is mild herbs and some spice, nice strong doughy malt scent in the background. Flavor is dry, some mild bitterness. Light hoppiness lingers in the finish. Not a whole lot of malt texture/complexity, and the hop profile is dominated by slightly raw Sterling hop, instead of Saaz, which would have been preferable, but a pretty good beer nonetheless.

Aroma is sweet and fruity, with a little bit of a grassy leafy smell as well. There is a surprisingly strong hops element to this beer along with mild spiciness, the background flavors disappear quickly but the hops taste persists long enough to enjoy. It also tastes a little watery, as though it could use a little more body. A little too carbonated when I drank it, but the texture is satisfactory.

( 12oz bottle thanks to ericandersnavy) Pours pale yellow with very oily head. Nose is plastic and a touch of hops. Taste is creamy, sweet, spicy, and under-carbonated.

12 oz bottle from Sandy’s Liquors; called just Belgian Style Blonde on label. Nose of light floral hops, spicy cloves and nutmeg, and sweet caramel with a hint of banana I could pick up as I opened the cap but later seemed to disappear. Clear copper with a medium, glass-lacing off white head. Flavor is peppery, with some caramel and light bitterness.

Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Clear, golden in color, and with a white head. The smell is malts, hops, and ok. The taste is blah, hops, and malts.

~Yeasty esters in aroma. I am also getting orange, honey, light spicy hops, and a light malt scent. Spicy honey scent dominates. Scent gets stronger as it warms. ~Pours a very clear light gold color with lots of carbonation bubbles. Large rocky and creamy white head that lasts and leaves lacing. ~Flavor of medium spicy hops with a sweet maltiness. Light alcohol. Flavor is spicer than the aroma. Spicy hops dominate. Balance seems a bit off. ~Light to medium bodied, high carbonation, light alcohol warmth, slightly creamy when chewed, spicy hop finish. ~Complex and enjoyable blond. Missing balance of malts.
