COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our flagship Belgian Blonde is a true Belgian style Blonde Ale; a light copper colored ale we brew it with Belgian Pilsner and specialty malts, which provide a distinctive yet exceptionally smooth flavor. A small amount of Rye malt contributes to the delicate herbal and spicy undertones. The yeast strain is also of Belgian origin and provides nuance and complexity. As is customary in Belgium, we use the finest Bohemian “Noble” hops which balance perfectly with the malt and yeast flavors. The results are a beer of enormous complexity with a wonderful, very supple drinkability. A panel of international judges apparently agrees; they awarded us the Silver Medal at the 2008 World Beer Cup®!

Bottle. Aroma is slight spice, yeasty esters, and malt. Has a copper color thin white head that dissipated quickly. Taste has some spice, Belgian yeast, a bit of citrus, and sweet malt. Overall rather forgettable.

Location: 12 oz bottle from State Line, 5/15/12, Rating #2200

Aroma: It has a rather weak aroma of grains/bread, malts, and spice
Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy golden-orange color with a thin white head and light lace
Flavor: Very similar, but more pronounced then the nose, malty, light-medium sweet, minimal bitterness
Palate: The body is light-medium and it feels decent, though a touch watery, with avg-to-lively carbonation
Overall Impression: This one wasn’t my favorite. The nose is a little dull, and the flavor, though better, isn’t anything to write home about either. The pour is pretty nice and this beer is drinkable enough, but I didn’t find anything standout about it.

Poured a slightly hazy light-honey color with a thin off-white head. Aroma has some honey and pale malts. Some light fruit as well. Taste is somewhat sweet with light fruits and lots of grains. Lots of cereal as well. Slightly earthy, and a tad bit of cardboard. Finish is a little sweet as well. Some yeast notes. Overall not bad!

12 oz. bottle from Hayduke. Enjoyed together via facebook chat on Ron’s birthday. The pours a darker golden and is clear. Decent carbonation visible. An off white head is kind of funky and soapy. During the pour I smelled Saaz hops along with malt, honey, and grain. The feel is lively and fairly rich. Fruit was tasted first and then honey. Hops stayed in the background and added complexity. Later the beer became more malty. This was nice.

Bottle:   Golden straw, thin white foamy head, spotty lacing, lively carbonation.   Bright barnish nose.   Whafts of powdered sugar.   Funky grassiness on the tongue.   Dry powdery sweetness.   Thin to moderate body and mouthfeel.   Finishes quick.   Barnish oat like flavors linger.   Tiz okay, certainly seems like a Belgian Blonde.

12oz bottle. Poured a medium golden color with a small dense white head. Sweet aroma with a little bit of tartness and a hint of yeast. Dry hoppy character with a bisquity malty flavor and hint of yeast and fruity sweetness. Fresh and crisp. Medium bodied with light prickly carbonation.

Elwood (1966) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - SEP 1, 2011
Serving: 12 oz. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a crystal clear gold color with a small, thin, white head. The bubbles look a little large and the beer is a little too clear to be a Belgian. The nose is doughy and sweet. The flavor is very sweet with notes of apple juice, a bit of dough, and slight florals. Not very impressive. Flat on the tongue, no depth of flavor, and a short finish. Tastes like an unhopped, under attenuated pils. Not impressed.
