3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours with a tan fine bubbled head with good retention and some light lacing on a mahogany black body. Aroma is coffee, roast and boozy bourbon vanilla. There’s coffee, light bittersweet chocolate, roasted malt, and some smokiness in the finish. Flavor is a bit flat in spots. The body is medium full and very creamy. Not remarkable but a good beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Location: 22 oz bottle from State Line, 11/13/12
Aroma: The nose is quite sweet and chocolaty, with some light roast, with a little vanilla and caramel
Appearance: This one pours a dark brown color with a small brown head and medium lace
Flavor: Tastes sweet, not as sweet as the nose, the roast comes out a bit more, and there’s a mild bitterness
Palate: The body is medium-plus, with a roasty feel to it, not too sticky, and an average carbonation
This is a pretty solid porter, though it is quite sweet. It is also quite drinkable and it has a pretty decent feel to it, but it isn’t a standout by any means.

Bomber from Windy City. Lightly roasted nose with a bit of milkiness. Roasted coffee flavored with some milk sugar and a hint of vanilla. This is a potent sweet dessert type of porter.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tallahassee, Fl - at drowland’s 7/7/12 going away tasting party - thanks to Robert. Dark black pour, thick mocha colored head. Chocolate in the aroma with some odd mildewy notes. Flavor has plenty of earthy potting soil, some mint, chocolate profile in the back end, a wee bit of vanilla. Thick enough mouthfeel.
