COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
What compels a journey- Beyond the realm of possibilities? Peak XV- The Earth’s highest mountain- Was first measured in 1856, then renamed Mt. Everest nine years later. In 20 years the ascent was proposed, but it would be another 68 years (and several unsuccessful attempts later) before the summit was finally reached. In admiration of the human spirit and the courage required to accomplish this supreme feat, we offer this dark towering brew. Subtle undertones of vanilla are brought forth using multiple sources of whole vanilla beans, followed by a stupendous nose of dark chocolate - Provided by locally sourced cacao nibs. The flavor is massive chocolate, creamy vanilla, toasty and malty. The finish is epic.

Old rating, on tap at SF Beer Week 2010 Opening Gala, as "Tenzing Imperial Porter", guess they had to change the name of the beer... One of many favourites that night. Dark pour with a beige head. Aroma and taste of roasted malt, lots of chocolate, rounded off with smooth vanilla. Just the right amount of vanilla for me. Kept coming back for more during the night.

22 oz bottle. Dark brown with a fluffy beige head. Nose is carob, oats and chocolate caramel. Creamy medium body with a buzz. Taste is vanilla, dark chocolate, marshmallow and bitter coffee bean. A solid porter benefits nicely from the beans and nibs. Rich and tasty.

Poured black with a small off-white head. Aroma has lots of roasted chocolate and coffee. Some vanilla as well. Taste is very roasted with lots of chocolate malts. The taste surprisingly turns very smooth and sweet with lots of coffee and vanilla. Some dark fruit as well. Finish has some nice burnt coffee flavors with vanilla and some raspberries. Overall very smooth and well balanced.
