What compels a journey- Beyond the realm of possibilities? Peak XV- The Earth’s highest mountain- Was first measured in 1856, then renamed Mt. Everest nine years later. In 20 years the ascent was proposed, but it would be another 68 years (and several unsuccessful attempts later) before the summit was finally reached. In admiration of the human spirit and the courage required to accomplish this supreme feat, we offer this dark towering brew. Subtle undertones of vanilla are brought forth using multiple sources of whole vanilla beans, followed by a stupendous nose of dark chocolate - Provided by locally sourced cacao nibs. The flavor is massive chocolate, creamy vanilla, toasty and malty. The finish is epic.

22. Pours jet black with a dense and creamy tan head and decent drippy lace. Not a total show pony, but looks good. Big bourbony nose, lots of chocolate and vanilla. Thick creamy body. Mid palate heaps with chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, and oak. Nice sweet stuff. We’ve been here before more than once, but it’s always a nice place to come back and visit. A little too sweet and goopy to be truly amazing, but definitely a bottle to savor with your feet up.

I smell vanilla and roast; tastes semi-sweet chocolate and raisins. Kinda thin, but good.

Nose of vanilla cocoa. Roast and earth.a little nutty. Very sweet aroma. Pours brown with a thin tan head. Flavora are sweet throighout with vanilla andI earthy cocoa notes. Mild bitterness roast and more vsnilla. Light body medium carb. The beer needs more asseetiveness as it seems like a boring brown ale treatment. Not horrible by any means.

Bomber. Pours a clear dark brown body with a one finger fizzy beige head that faded to a wispy partial covering. The nose is quite rich and intense, lots of milk chocolate, some vanilla bean, light roast, and some light caramel. The flavoring is a little over the top though, almost extending into the Southern Tier realm. Heavily laced with vanilla, the cocoa comes in a close second, which doesn’t leave too much room for the actual beer to express itself. All bells and whistles and no substance. Very sweet and a little tiring on the palate after less than half a bottle. Rather thick and chewy in texture with soft carbonation. Not terrible, but not something I’d try again or recommend seeking out.

Bottle. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla. Flavor of charred/roasted malt up front with burnt caramel and vanilla in the finish. Smooth and roasty/charred palate. Nice beer, would have liked a stronger chocolate presence, given the description. Overall it’s pretty good. 7/4/8/4/14 [3.7/5]

Pretty good beer but I am not a fan of how the vanilla plays out in this beer.

Very misleading. Great label and description, but when it comes down to drink ability this Imperial Stout falls short. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber from Wooden Keg in Hagerstown, MD. Pours a clear dark brown color with a medium sized creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of chocolate, nutty notes and roasted malts. The taste is chocolate, cocoa, nutty notes, roasted malts, coffee and citrus hops. Medium bodied. Quite tasty.

22 oz bomber thanks to boamr, thanks Ryan. Poured a thinner looking super dark brown with a smaller foamy beige head. Aroma of cheap sugary dry chocolate, raisin, prunes, rotting vanilla, just really sweet overall. Syrupy body with average carbonation and a lingering sweetness on the swallow. Flavor isn’t as sweet as the aroma, olive juice and cola soaked bread. Too sweet in the aroma and after taste.
