On tap at Sacchromyces 120316. Good balance of malt and hops with neither overpowering the other. There is some citrus in the aroma and the flavour. Sweetish finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330 ML bottle
Thanks to Hawthorn for the bottle
Murky orange brown color. Light tan head that slowly falls to a collar. Ringed lacing.
Orange peel, caramel, bubble gum and plastic nose. Interesting nose to say the least.
Taste is just as odd. Mango, orange peel, bubble gum, plastic, and caramel. Bitterness picks up in back of the taste. Mostly orange and lemon peel.
Palate is a lot of resin. More of an IPA character than an APA feel. Much more bitter and oily. Dank orange finish. Medium body, lighter carbonation.
Interesting sort of beer.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Looks like a lager - golden brown. Smells like a malt bomb - caramel sweet and toffee. Taste is the same - sickly - with a big dose of resin. Not my sort of pale ale at all, and just not balanced in any hop driven sense. Overall, wouldn’t drink this one again.

Bottle from Cellar Door (October 2013). Slightly murky amber/brown, lasting off-white head, mango, passionfruit, grass, sweet caramel, bready malts, full body, creamy texture, long bitter finish. A rock-solid pale ale.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
330ml Bottle. Gassy on opening, pours an orange tinted pale brown colour, very cloudy. Large off white head frothy/rocky head. Strong aromas of roasted malt and pine, with a hint a of roasted, smokey character. Notes of grapefruit, pine and honey, rather earthy. Flavour is an initial sweet caramel malt, with notes of a grainy bread. Pine and grapefruit bitter finish, slightly nutty malt flavour. Medium body, soft but pleasant carbonation. Slightly sticky and creamy mouthfeel.
Overall, very malty with a strong bitter finish for a pale ale, but balanced very well
