Bottle from Cellar Door (October 2013). Slightly murky amber/brown, lasting off-white head, mango, passionfruit, grass, sweet caramel, bready malts, full body, creamy texture, long bitter finish. A rock-solid pale ale.

330ml Bottle. Gassy on opening, pours an orange tinted pale brown colour, very cloudy. Large off white head frothy/rocky head. Strong aromas of roasted malt and pine, with a hint a of roasted, smokey character. Notes of grapefruit, pine and honey, rather earthy. Flavour is an initial sweet caramel malt, with notes of a grainy bread. Pine and grapefruit bitter finish, slightly nutty malt flavour. Medium body, soft but pleasant carbonation. Slightly sticky and creamy mouthfeel.
Overall, very malty with a strong bitter finish for a pale ale, but balanced very well

Pours dark amber with a massive head.
Nose shows some caramel along with spicy, herbal and floral hops.
More spicy and floral hops as flavours along with fruity notes and some caramel.
Carbonation is way too high, annoyingly so.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear amber with a finger or so of foamy off white head.
Nose is really fresh and vibrant. I get grapefruit peel, bubblegum, caramel and a hint of dough.
Drinking this reveals a huge depth of flavour. I get an initial touch of caramel sweetness, along with a grainy note and some citrus. The mid palate is dominated by grapefruit and pine flavours and the finish is fairly bitter for a pale ale, with a nutty biscuity note.
Body is medium, and the carbonation is spot on.
I really like this beer. There’s a good bit of everything. Balance between the hop and the malt flavours, enough bitterness and enough complexity.

From a 330ml bottle on 20/11/2013. Pours a deep golden with a big foamy head. Has a very nice sweet fruity aroma. The flavour is pretty full on with sweet fruit again most prominent, with some yeasty notes against a background of biscuity malt. The bitterness is big and lingering for a pale ale, the body is quite full and the carbonation is medium. A very good, full flavoured pale ale.
