Has the aroma of vanilla and oak, the appearance is jet black with no head. The taste is complex with strong vanilla notes up front and a toasty slightly sweet aftertaste that could come frome the maple syrup that is used in brewing this beer. Overall is a good stout but could be more carbonated but has a good overall taste.

Aroma is boozy and oaky. Appearance is black with no head. Low carbonation. Taste is oaky, roasty, some alcohol heat, and finishes with heat and a little roasty smoke. Very little hop presence in either bitterness or aroma. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
