SpudClampDawg (949), Jasper, Indiana, USA Jul 2, 2008 On tap at the brewery - labeled Lost Sailor IPA: The bartender told me that this was an all Cascade IPA, but I didn’t really believe that. It has all the classic signs of Cascade aroma and flavor, but the bitterness seemed a bit too rindy and well, bitter. Anyways, a pretty looking IPA - sunny amber with creamy cap. The nose is full of sweet orange and zingy tangerine. It drinks well, with a creamy mouthfeel . An initial bitterness rouses thoughts of pink grapefruit rind and resiny pine. As the bitterness subsides, a rounded hop profile of candied oranges, perfume and rose petals emerges. Some crystal malt does sweeten things up, but the hops steal the show in this one. A nicely done beer for sure. VeloVampire (400), Parkdale, Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 14, 2007 On tap at the brewpub under the name Lost Sailor IPA - came a slightly hazy peach with a very small white head. Nice fruity aroma typical of many American IPAs - big C-hop grapefruit, peach, and some grassiness. More of the same in the flavour, and the malt is well-integrated. Medium body, and a solid bitter finish. Good stuff! beerbuzzmontreal (2747), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jan 8, 2007 The pour revealsa clear golden color with a thin white head. Aroma and flavor of fruity hops and honey. The body is light with an oily texture and lively carbonation. thedm (3406), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Nov 10, 2006 This bottled brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy fine to medium sized tan colored bubbles that was and left behind a transparent softly carbonated light orange brown colored body and an excellent lacing. The aroma was piney hops and malty. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish piney hoppy aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of piney hops and caramel. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again. Dogbrick (2266), Columbus, Ohio, USA Oct 12, 2006 Sample at the brewpub: Hazy yellow-gold color with a thin white head and stringy lacing. Citrusy hops aroma with an underlying fruity sweetness. Medium-bodied and quite hoppy with some citrus and malt flavor thrown in. The finish is moderately bitter with a lingering hoppiness. Pretty good from start to finish.
