A friend brought back a growler of this and said now they’re calling it Black Monday. Pours black with a thin tan head. Roasted malt and chocolate aroma with some nice bitter coffee notes. Roasty and ashy flavor up front with some chocolate and esters before a coffee finish. Pretty solid.

On tap: Roasted coffee with lots of roasted malt and dark chocolate in the aroma. Dark brown with some red hilights along the edges of the galss. Okay lacing. Nice tan head. Roasted coffee and lots of sweet chocolate in the flavor with a light hopped finish. No real alcohol feel or presence.

On draft at brewery. Poured black as a moonless night. The aroma has coffee, roasted malts and sweet caramel. Rich malty flavor of roasted and burnt malts, sweet molasses and a hint of chocolate and coffee. Tasty.

Tap: world beer expo/Frankenmuth. Dark black with decent beige head that fades to film. Initial aroma is coffee with some dark roasted grains. Flavor has lots of coffee initially, with some hop bitterness and a long sweet chocolate finish. I am not a fan of coffee, this would score even better with a little less coffee.

Tap at Detroit Brewfest. Pours with a deep brown nearly black color. Minimal head. Body is thin and watery. Some sourness in aroma and taste.
