Tessic (413), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Oct 20, 2007 This stout poured the usual black colour with a nice creamy brown head. To the nose was a light coffee scent with chocolate and some earthy notes. First sip was smooth with flavours of chocolate and burnt ash. A little coffee flavour added. The finish was very lightly hopped with a very small bitter flavour lasting to the end. beerbuzzmontreal (2769), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jan 8, 2007 Pours a deep black color with small bronw highlights and a thin light brown head. Interesting aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. Mild flavor of chocolate and roasted malt with a bitter finish. The body is light with a dry texture and lively carbonation. As with the porter the flavor doesn’t follow through with the promises given by the aroma. Ibrew2or3 (1900), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Jan 1, 2007 Updated: Jan 22, 2007On draft (nitrogen) at brewery. Poured pitch black with creamy light brown Guinness type head. Excellent aroma of sweet caramel, roasted malts, molasses, and chocolate malts. Rich and inviting. The mouth feel is a tad thin but not too bad for the style. There are lots of sweet caramel malts, roasted to burnt malts and chocolate malts. Very tasty brew that left nice lacing behind. SoylentBlack (99), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Dec 20, 2006 Draft from the brewery. A burnt black beer. A bit grainy taste that makes it quite different. A very good beer, if not very stouty. thedm (3407), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Nov 10, 2006 This draft brew from the brewery poured a head of foamy finely sized brown colored bubbles that was mostly lasting and left behind a opaque no visible carbonation black colored body and an excellent lacing. The aroma was brown malt dark malt and burnt malt. The semi-flat mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt brown malt and burnt malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.
