3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear amber brown with a creamy white head. Aroma of smokey lager malt. Flavor of bitter hops, smoke, caramel malt, sweet citrus, and smoked lager malt. Hmm, this doesnít taste like the other California common beers that Iíve had and has a definite smoked note. It was ok overall, fairly drinkable, but a little disappointing.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Growler filled at the brewpub and consumed the next day. Pours a slightly hazed amber with a moderate linen white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Pleasant aroma of malt and toasted crackers. The flavor is again malt and toasted crackers along with a bit of mild fruit. Mild-moderate bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied. This is a very solid and easy drinking beer, and at $8.45 for a growler refill, an excellent value as well.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
I was excited to try this as it is an unusual style. The aroma is toasted malt, wood, grass. The appearance is a nice amber/red, white head. The flavor is like the aroma, toasted, wood, greass, but with more notes of ccaramel, and slightly less toasted. The finish is grass, wood, earth, and a mild noble hop bitterness toward the end. Medium in body. Low carbonation. Not incredible, but interesting, and enjoyable.
