COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The beauty of helles lies in the subtleties of its flavors. Somewhat malty flavor without noticeable hop bitterness and just a balanced hop flavor along with a well attenuated fermentation all combine for a refreshing lager that is the most popular style of beer on tap in Bavaria. The popularity of helles has led it to being the primary style of beer served in Munich at Oktoberfest time instead of the traditional Oktoberfest style lager. Since it has become the beer of Munich Oktoberfest there is no better beer to lead us into our own Oktoberfest celebration here at the Black Forest.

Aroma is yeasty. Flavor is same with a bit of malt. Unfortunately, somewhat forgettable.

The aroma is malty, some noble hops, slight diacetyl, lemon zest. The appearance is gold, clear, white head. The flavor is just like the aroma, slightly more butter. The finish is steady noble hop bittering. Medium in body. Not bad at all, just a little boring.

On draught at Black Forest. Serves a hazy yellowish gold with a thin-moderate linen white head that lasted through the first two sips and left light lace. The aroma is lager yeast along with a hint of lemon. The flavor is lager yeast, malt and pretzel. Mild bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied. Solid lager.
