Nice malty, fruity, spicy aroma, a little bit of booze. The appearance is dark brown/red, ample off-white head. The flavor is sweet, spicy, rye bread like. The finish is spicy, resiny hops, slight booze warming. Medium/thick in body, sticky. Nice.

Growler filled at the brewpub and consumed the next day. Pours a lightly hazy reddish brown with a large tan head that lasts through three-quarters of the glass and leaves ample lace. Pleasant aroma of malt along with some light notes of spice. The flavor is malt with some light spice. After a few seconds, there is some substantial dryness that arises at the back of the throat and settles for an extended period of time. Not the caramel and richness I associate with a typical barley wine, but a solid beer nonetheless. Moderate bitterness accompanies the dryness. Medium bodied. Enjoyable.
