Pours amber with white head. Aroma is smoke and caramel. Taste is sweet and smokey, the smokeyness gpleaves a tang.

On draught at the brewpub. Pours a hazy golden brown with a moderate off-white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Pleasant aroma of mild smoke, both wood and meat smoke, along with notes of caramel. The flavor is mild smoke and reminds me very much of smoked ham. This is complimented very nicely with some mild caramel. Very smooth on the palate. I could drink this all day and not be tired of it. One of, if not the best beer I’ve had from Black Forest!

This beer is much like their regualr Oktoberfest, but is greatly improved by the addition of smoked malts. The aroma is smoke, wood, caramel. The appearance is an amber/red, white head. The flavor is smoke, caramel, noble hops. Just enough smoke to complement the beer, without overpowering. Medium in body. The finish is light smoke, lightly sweet, noble hops. Good all around.
