Draft sample at the brewery - the description given at the brewery said this was a "hybrid" of a saison and an oktoberfest - apparently, this translates into, "it tastes like an infected oktoberfest" - very malt-forward (munich, mostly), but with some acidity, tartness, and metallic character behind it - some o-fest-ish esters floating around - a suppose I should applaud their attempt at doing something different, but this just didn’t work for me.

(draft at Trinity in Colorado Springs). Cloudy, dark burnt orange color. Small off white head. Light yeast aroma. Light roasted malt flavor. Avg duration. Smooth finish. Slick texture. Moderate carbonation. Spare lacing.

Draught. Pours hazy ruby-brown with a small, frothy-rocky white head, somewhat lasting with good lacing. Aroma is chewy caramel malt (cookie, nutty, wet paper sack) with figs, earthy hops, clove, raisin, and dates with a late citrus hint. Tart and sour malt, lemon, lime, plum, metal, with a dry finish, lively carbonation. Seems a little flawed but interesting nonetheless.
