Tap at Bristol on 7/12/10. Bright yellow and hazy. Nose is lemony, peppery, lime. Very dry with a bit of horseblanket taste. Lots of spices in this one-particularly pepper. Spunky, in your face, not for the tame this one is. An over-the-top saison that pushes the boundaries. Good stuff here.

Pours a hazy yellow body with a small fizzy white head. Aroma of grass, florals, pepper, and citrus. Flavor of pine, herbs, earth, pineapple, pepper, and citrus.

notalush (3742) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JAN 2, 2010
Sampled at the brewpub, now drinking from a growler - cloudy gold - lively pour - impressive, soapy head - aroma of tangy lime, pils malt, earthy wheat, grassy saaz hops, pepper, light earthiness/mustiness - full but soft carbonation - fairly dry, peppery, bitter, crisp - a bit tart through the middle, with fairly strong wheat malt presence - lime is strong, but not overpowering - very mild phenols - finishes tart, dy, and peppery - despite the non-traditional ingredients, this is the most traditional-tasting saison I tried from this brewer today.

RSRIZZO (1679) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - NOV 15, 2009
Had at the All Colorado Beer Festival in Colorado Springs on 11/7/09. Color is a hazy yellow. Carbonation is good with a nice tight white head. Aroma is a sour malt scent with a little spice. Starting with a lighter medium body it goes down with a crisp feel. Finish of coriander orange and pepper that goes a little sour on the end. Overall its ok for a Saison.

Aroma is heavy malt (bread, hay, straw), average hop (herbs, grass), average yeast (earth) with notes of lime, cumin, pear, and pepper. Medium bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

On tap at Cheeky Monk in Denver. Pours a hazy golden color with a large creamy white head. Aroma is yeast, lime, pepper, and mild funk. Flavor is chili peppers, black pepper, yeast, wheat, lime, and a little barnyard. Just a tiny bit of chili pepper heat. Finishes dry, with medium body and some prickly carbonation. Good stuff, if a little weird.

Draft at SBR. Tasted 7/11/09. Thin head, over a cloudy, pale yellow (SRM 3) body...nose is a bit of light malt, bit of wheat, dominated by lime...taste is primarily lime, with a bit of hop. Lime dominated this a bit too much.
