COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.
A distinctive dry taste and a ruby red colour form the basis of this bitter. Challenger hops provide a fruity finish and the malt combination give a underlying toffee flavour.

A lovely winter beer full of flavour that changes as you go down the glass and leaves you wanting another.

On cask at the congress, longton. Pours red brown with an over lively off white head. Quite fruity with a red ale tartness. Probably slightly too astringent. Good ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask - Standing Order (JDW), Derby. Poured with a lasting, medium sized creamy beige head leaving a uniform lacing atop a clear ruby brown body. Sweet fruit, caramel notes & roasted malt aromas. Remains malt-forward on the tongue. Quite roasty and mildly fruity with a fairly decent finishing bitterness. Medium body & length finish, soft to medium palate texture. A solid, easily quaffable bitter.

Hand pulled at the Prince of Wales, Moseley, Birmingham. Smooth, thin chestnut ale. Malty, quite lite with a little nutty choc. Pleasant. [what a boring review that was - Ed.]

(Cask at Market Porter, Southwark, London, 21 May 2010) Reddish amber colour with brief, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of dried fruit and red berries. Malty, fruity taste with red berries, dried fruit, toffee and a mild, spicy bitterness. Medium body, with some sweetness. Tasty and well balanced, but hardly exciting.

Cask (gravity dispense) at Battersea Beer Festival, 11 February 2010. Copper colour. Scant head. Decent condition. Rather clammy malt aroma. Light toffee hints on the nose. Fruity malt on the palate. Toffee apple in the background. A little pinch of tartness. Ends up quite tasty. Good length.
