Knoxville Brewer’s Jam sample. Poured a clear amber with a one finger whitish head. Aroma of caramel malt. Flavor of oak, dark fruit and caramel. Good beer. A great staple for a small brewer such as this.

2008 Knoxville Brewers’ Jam. Pours hazy amber with off-white head. The aroma is straight caramel with a little bit of a butter tinge. The flavor is pretty much the same, with a few woody and fruity notes thrown in for good measure. Very, very simple, but not undrinkable.

Sampled at the 2008 Knoxville Brewer’s Jam. Reddish orange. Big aroma of caramel and toffee. Flavor is also caramel and toffee. Simple, but tasty.

Brewer’s Jam. This is obviously red in color with a decent head. The nose is rather buttery with light hops that give it a citrus character reminiscent of oranges. The mouthfeel is appropriate. The best thing about the flavor is a grassy, orangey bitterness which is balanced by biscuity malts. A modest butter note is noted. This is a pretty basic beer.

Draft at Pub: Dark amber color in the glass with an off-white head that mostly disappeared but did leave some lacing. Nice smells of caramel malts. Sweet flavor of caramel and hints of lemon. Light to medium body, lively carbonation.
