"That which is now a horse, even with a thought. The rack dislimns, and makes it indistinct, As water is in water."<P> On this the eve of my 1500th rating I am pleased to bask in the gleam of your aluminum carriage. Having sequestered you away from your harness team of six, I now set you free. Informed by the online sites of beer appraisal that your home is in Montreal, I find that your banner declares that thou art "Brewed Only In Newfoundland", and I am perplexed by this new revelation. Like your polar bear cousin, the two largest producers of our land have exiled you to the far reaches of our Northern Range. The large fluffy white peaks atop your pale yellow contents evoke images of the tall mountain crests behind your image; a stark contrast to your dark visage. The emerging aroma has sweet, grainy, and floral qualities, unlike the rocky barren of your artist rendered home. The flavour of your namesake is admittedly much better than that of the liquids you yourself can generate. Sweet flavour has echoes of the sweet grains and floral nature of the aroma, giving way to bitterness and less pleasant notes as if departs. The smooth touch across the palate is not unlike the waves of your mane in the breeze. An inoffensive but it is lacking the statuesque grandeur of your portrait.<P> Lord Ronald said nothing; he flung himself from the room, flung himself upon his horse and rode madly off in all directions.<P>

Originally reviewed Mar. 9, 2007: joy. getting to try this beer, in can no less. meh. poured with big bubble head that didn’t last at all. colour is a light gold. doesn’t really smell like much at all. taste boasts the same. some light malts. ’bout it. i can see this beer maybe being just good enough to pound back and get drunk on.

341ml bottle pours a golden color with a 2 finger white head that settles quite quickly leaving a few spots of lacing behind. Aroma is cheap grains and faint hops with a little bit of skunkiness. Taste is light malt sweetness with a bit of grassy hops and skunk. Terrible beer.

Great, easy drinking beer. I have only had it in Newfoundland so I will drink it anytime I’m having cod cheeks again.

This lager poured a crystal clear, light yellow colour with a really fast dissipating, bright white head. to the nose there are scents of corn, a little skunk, sour ??? First taste was like water. "East coast, White Bread muck" to be exact. Light malt flavour followed by a nice metallic taste.... do I really need to say more.

Had years ago in St. John’s (Newfoundland) when I ponied up to the bar and asked for "something local". Lo and behold, a forgettable malty experiment that is hard to differentiate from anything else that Molson’s has made.... though this one was a bit darker, more of an amber-style beer than a pale lager thing. It did the trick, and for awhile I mistook it for a microbrew, but in fact it’s hard to give much respect to.

From about 30 years ago, I tasted this brew (a college pal of me used to wear the bottle caps as medals as a joke) - Yeah, it tasted pretty much like any macro-brew, but it wasn’t bad.

A very bland macro lager overall. I wish I could rate it higher for sentimental reasons but I simply can’t do it. It lacked any personality and the taste was slightly bitter. It had a light body, thin texture and was too fizzy for me, and I like a good amount of carbonation typically. The finish was abrupt. Disappointing, unfortunately.

Bright gold brew with an off white cap, really good lacing, a good ammount of carbs and some unfiltered floaties. Aroma was pretty stinky, like cheap grainy malts, barley, lawn and some sweetness. Overall it’s pretty much in line with other cheap Canadian brews. Taste was malty and dry with some yeast. You can notice some chemicals and a small ammount of hops. Medium bodied with a somewhat rough feel with some sour bitterness in the middle. Ends dry. I don’t mind this beer one bit.

Golden yellow body with a thin white cap produced during the poor but was gone in just a few seconds, just looks like you everyday average beer. Weak smelling malts, and wow after the first sniff all sent has disappeared nothing can be detected, but at least no smell is better then a bad one. Old tasting beer, all malt kinda stale, some chemicals, with a massive bread after taste. It’s a drinkable beer nothing great, and since I got for free it was worth the money
