COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The North American natives gave the early French explorers a tea made from the white cedar tree. The French named the tree Arbor Vitae, which means Tree of Life. We have developed Beer-A-Vitae, the Beer of Life, our tribute to Akira and Loki, the first two dogs in our kennel that started it all.

Hazy amber with a thin beige topper. Aroma is very herbal backed up by sweet malt, grains, mild cedar (wood, tree, leaves, bark, etc - I think they steeped the whole tree in there lol). Taste is herbal as well, can’t pick them out individually but it has a tea-like quality to go with caramel, cedar and malt. A bit woodsy, a touch hoppy with a dry finish. Interesting concoction.

Bottle from motortoddhead...thanks Todd! - Pours hazy ruby amber with a huge foamy light tan head. Big chocolatey caramel malt on the nose, with nice grassy/pine/herbal hop aroma. There’s a light plastic note in there as well. Spruce-forward taste right away, but that quickly subsides and shows a big sweet bready malt base. Piney hops and chocolate are there through the finish with some more plastic. Smooth and creamy. Spruce is a little overbearing after awhile, but it’s interesting. Put off by the plastic, as another one of Black Husky’s beers was a plastic-bomb.

Received a 22-oz bomber via in-person trade with esjaygee. Pours a semi-hazy brownish amber colored brew with a thick and creamy off-white head that has some excellent retention and spotty lacing. Aroma of floral and citrus hops, a hint of ash, cedar and iced tea, Taste has a mild herbal and tea flavor, hints of citrus zest, caramel malt and a touch of sage. Finish has a dry herbal and citrus aftertaste that slowly disappears. Definitely a pale ale character with some herbal seasoning.
