3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 JK (3505) - Uptown, Minneapolis, USA - JAN 11, 2012
Black and low carbonat. Some port/wine quality in the flavor. Heavily roasted, probably over-roasted grain. Lightly tart and a very dry finish. I like the port character, but the extreme dry finish, less so. Thanks to Skyview for sharing.

Thanks Todd! The beer pours to a deep brown body with a thin white head. The aroma is dry and chocolatey with dry black malts and clean grains. The flavor is dry and chocolatey. Super dry charcoal. There’s a note of sour in this. The palate is dry and lightly tangy. Medium bodied.

Thanks to Todd for bringing the bomber! Poured deep brown with a well-retained beige head.. looked really good in the glass. The aroma picked up chocolate, ashy, and licorice notes with a bit of warmth and earthy character accenting.. not the most interesting malt bill, but it came together well. The flavor found a lot of chocolate, but a lot of ashy, roasted black patent malt too.. tacky sugars on the finish, with a lot of roast and a little sourness. Medium-bodied, very dry, and a little sour on the palate.. just an OK feel and flow.. decent stout.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 madvike (1468) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 1, 2011
Bottle from motortoddhead...thanks Todd! Pours dark wtih a thin layer of light tan head. Roasty, lightly nutty malt, lightly charred and bold maltiness. Pretty dry. Taste is really dry, with an almost fruity note. Not as charred--more dark chocolate and cocoa. Bitter finish, but it’s a dark chocolate bitterness. A bit watery, but smooth. Pretty nice.

Picked up a single 22-oz bomber from Three Cellars in Franklin, Wisconsin. Pours an opaque dark brown colored brew with a thin tan head that leaves behind some spotty lacing and a film top. Aroma of toasted dark malt, a hint of Bakers chocolate, tart apple and some biscuit. Taste is medium bodied, flavors of Bakers chocolate, some Toosie roll caramel, tart apple and a hint of vanilla. Finish has a slight tart and bitter coffee aftertaste with a tart fruit and toasted dark malt flavor.

[Bottle] shared by skyview. Thanks! Pours clear deep brown with a small ring of tan head. Aroma is light vanilla, lactose, cake batter, tart apple. Mouthfeel is thinnish and tart. Flavor is tart apple, roasted malt, light coffee, a bit of bitterness that gradually increases over time.

Brown body with faint ring of head. Chocolate and apple in the aroma. The body tastes like a bitter tootsie roll. The finish is really bitter and dry.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 arkurzynski (847) - West Bend, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 7, 2011
Bottle thanks to motortoddhead. Pours dark brown to black, thin tan head with larger bubbles. Nose is relatively mild roast, cocoa, some fruit esters. Flavor is smooth roasted malts, light burnt biscuit, and a hint of malty sweetness. Ends mild roast residual. Very smooth and well put together. A bit on the thin side and seemed a just a tad over-carbonated. Keep up the good work!
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 brewblackhole (1584) - Muskego, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 24, 2011
Beautiful black brown color, the distinct but shallow head that marks the bigger styles, aromas is brownie batter, fudge pudding, a tickling of roasted malts and a wisp of alcohol, not monsterous but clear and distinct, you dont have to search for it,, initial impression is that I just ate one of my wifes double fudge brownies and swallowed it 15 seconds ago, that the flavor left in my mouth, the kind where quality chocolate ,not the hersheys is used, bakers cocoa, slightly overdone toast, just the most pleasant of aftertaste. Alcohol isnt coming through to much, but I’m getting a warming in the tummy, so its there. The third swallow and on lightens up a little ,but your still left with that cocoa malting in the aftertaste. Smooth without the slightest sense of flatness, chraming ,delightful, without a drop of pretentiousness,, medium bodied ,not the thick syrupy style, will work best if its your first beer of the night. This was a gift from Motortodhead,so I have no idea how costly it was. Comes in a bomber bottle, Thanks a ton Todd, highlight of the month
