2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottled. Poured rusty amber with a well-retained, sticky beige head. The aroma picked up sour fruit skins and vinegary notes over nutty malts.. this seemed off. The flavor confirmed that it wasnít quite right.. tangy fruit skin-infused vinegar sourness throughout.. some nutty and caramel malts at the core, but they were hard to get to.. finished sour. Light-medium bodied with moderate carbonation on the palate.. unfortunately sour. Iíll re-rate if I catch it on tap sometime.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma is a honey biscuit and grassy hops. Taste is cereal malting with the tinge of bitterness, a slight sweetness hint in swallow, but your primarily left hop resin bitterness. Very interesting flavor, with a drying effect from the hops that quenches the thirst. Would go great with a fish fry

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hazy copper with a thin rocky beige crown and a solid ring of lace. Aroma of toffee, sweet roasted nuts reminiscent of the evil roasted nut sellers at the Bradley Center, toasted malt and a nice interesting hop. The label says Slovenian and thatís half of my heritage so kudos to Black Husky for putting my hop in lol. Taste of toffee, sweet malt, spicy hop, caramel, roasted nuts and some nice spicy hops. Somewhere between a brown ale and a scotch ale, this was pretty darn good! Mild bitterness and a spicy finish. Iím loving Black Husky so far!

It is fun to watch so many craft beer drinkers rally at a new start up brewery, especially during an inauguration tasting. When I hear everyone around the Black Husky brewery stand shouting "Red Up" I had to see what the excitement is all about. "Red Up" - Harold the Red Ale is now on tap. Pours a clear light brownish amber colored brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that leaves behind some spotty lacing and a thin ring. Aroma of roasted nuts, a hint of caramel, some dark pitted fruits, burnt toast crust and a hint of spice. Taste is medium bodied, mild carbonation with some flavors of caramel malt, roasted nuts and a touch of spice. Finish is mostly malty with minimal bitterness but still has some floral hop aftertaste that slowly disappears.
