3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 brewblackhole (1584) - Muskego, USA - JUL 21, 2011
Dont know if there is any actual lactose in here, but it smells like it. Has an Ovaltine like texture,a little roastedness a little chocolate, has a light choclate and roasted grain taste, your taste buds are alerted to the presence of these flavors, but the big finishing wash of chocolate flavor doesnt come, nor is there any of the creaminess that many of the best have. Little bit of choclate bitterness in end. Nice easy drinking stout, would prefer a little harder hit on choclate sweetness and creaminess

Sampled on draught at the 2010 Great Northern Beer Festival in Eagle River, Wisconsin. Pours an opaque dark brown colored brew with an average sized beige head that quickly dissipates to a cream top and some spotty lacing. Aroma is quite light, some roasted dark malt, a hint of chocolate and some lactose. Taste is medium bodied, some metallic texture with flavors of roasted dark malt, lactose and some chocolate malt. Finish is semi-sweet, some mineral profile and a quick disappearing vanilla/lactose aftertaste.
