This fantastic strong stout is filled with the finest New World hops giving festive pine notes which complement the heavy liquorice and coffee malt base.

Bottle sampled at Björn, Thanks. Bottle 886/1272. No head. Brown color. Oaky with a nice tuch of sherry, black currants and also a bit of citrus hops. Alcoholic taste with a hard bitterness and a dark roasted malt taste. Medium body and some residual sweetness.

Bottle. Batch #45. Oily black pour with a small tan head. Boozy, caramel, burnt malt aroma. The cask helps stop it being too sweet without too much alcohol. Very light and smooth considering the percentage.

Bottle @ home from trade with Scopey. Many thanks Paul! Tasting this side by side with the other variants. Opaque black color, small brown head. Aroma is malts, liquor, sherry, lightly sweetish. Taste malts, alcohol, sherry, a hint of fruitpeel, slightly tannine and slightly bitter with a hint of roasted malts. Medium to full body, decent carbonation. Nice.

Clear dark brown color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, coffee, raisin, plum, alcohol. Flavour is light heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, chocolate, port - sherry, plum. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20140315]

330ml bottle from the Brewery, shared. Almost black, not much head. Sherry whiskey aroma. and flavour. Sweet peaty aftertaste. Quite smooth but not my sort of beer.

Bottle courtesy of Craig at Craigs doing a Chris O tasting, Edingburgh (ta for the beer Craig) Saturday 15th March Pours dark brown, the barrel ageing is a bit more subtle than previous ones. Tangy the alcohol shows, its nice. Roasty and not as pushy as others but its good. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4
