Bottle @ home from trade with Scopey. Many thanks Paul! Tasting this side by side with the other variants. Opaque black color, small brown head. Aroma is malts, liquor, sherry, lightly sweetish. Taste malts, alcohol, sherry, a hint of fruitpeel, slightly tannine and slightly bitter with a hint of roasted malts. Medium to full body, decent carbonation. Nice.

Bottle courtesy of Craig at Craigs doing a Chris O tasting, Edingburgh (ta for the beer Craig) Saturday 15th March Pours dark brown, the barrel ageing is a bit more subtle than previous ones. Tangy the alcohol shows, its nice. Roasty and not as pushy as others but its good. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Bottle. Black with tan head. Aroma is roasty, sherry comes through and licorice. Taste is similar, lots of licorice and molasses with some piney hops. Sweet and a little bitter. Delish.

Bottle. Pretty much black. Thin head. Aroma is rich and fruity with dark molasses, some sweetness from the sherry cask. Taste is rich molasses with a hint of roast, lots of sherry sweetness, plums and Christmas fruitcake, and a dash of alcohol. Yet, it has some vibrancy from carbonation more akin to an IPA than to strong ales, and from a little bit of acidity that was probably picked up in the aging process. Nice brew.
