[cask at Cloisters, Edinburgh] Black beer with a thin white lacing from the cask pour. Weak coffee nose – quite a lot of smoky ash on the nose as well. Roasty on the palate, touch of sweetness, with a definite tobacco finish. Coffee comes out at the end as well. Interesting stuff [09112011]

Cask at Black Isle tap takeover. Dark brown/black, creamy off-white head. Soft coffee grounds, not harsh. Slight vanilla, roast malt also. Soft creamy palate, milky coffee flavour, hint of chocolate, dry roasty finish. Very nice.
