3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy deep golden body with a small white head. Aroma is peachy tones of hops and pine, with hints of syrup and apricot. Wonderfully fruity aroma which heightens my anticipations for the first sip. And I am not disappointed! Mellow grassy hop tones with oranges, loads of peaches and fruit-syrupy sweetness balanced finely throughout the smooth palate and the layers of hop. Hints of flowers. A very, very nice Scottish surprise; this is a hidden gem IMO.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Golden blonde with floral, caramel and lemon notes in the aroma. Quite pithy but also sweet with an unplacable but not unpleasant vegetal note near the finish, which is also quite sherbety.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle 33o ml from Le Tonneau Verre - Yverdon (CH). Beer coulour of fire, cream and fleeting foam. Very aromatic malt and hops. The taste is bittersweet, at first toffy then dominant of hops. Tasted cool. Not very complex but notes of toffy, citrus and grass. Milder as it warms, refreshing.

Bottle from Systembolaget Sweden.
short beige head. Light clowdy amber color. Small piny aroma with hard roasted cara malt. The caramell is present in the taste with a clean bitterness. Not much sweetness and a finebody for a pale ale.

Cloudy orange, low beige head.
Fruity, ripe fruits. Hoppy but more in an english fruity way rather than in a very bitter way.
A bit flat. Fine sweet IPA:

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: SEP 25, 2012 Aroma: Clean aroma of fruity hops and cut grass.
Appearance: Clear amber body. Medium carbonation. Small, off-white head that gradually fades but leaves a reasonable amount of lacing.
Taste: Bitter grapefruit and peach flavours. Very hoppy and slightly peppery.
Palate: Medium body with a slick, oily texture. Average carbonation.
Overall: A delicious, fruity pale ale. In my opinion, one of Scotland’s best, most underrated beers. Reminds me of a more tangy, spicy version of the brilliant Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. In my experience, it’s tastier in keg than in bottle.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, 5.6%. Dusty aroma, some orangey hops. Cloudy orange colour, a bit dirty looking with bubbles sticking to the (clean) glass. Small stable frothy chalk white head. The flavour starts off with a good clean bitterness. Fruity malt and hop notes, citric and refreshing. Quite flavourful for a Scottish beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
[keg at Cloisters, Edinburgh] Not tried Goldeneye on keg before, realised I hadn’t actually rated it at all. Pale amber pour, with a thin off-white head. Sweet, malty nose once the beer has warmed a little. Plenty of fruit in evidence on the nose, as well. Citrus and pine on the flavour, before the malt arrives – good balance, and a good, lingering finish

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Deeside Drink Emporium, Banchory. It pours golden yellow, with a thin white head. The nose is sulphur, sweet malt, orange citrus fruit, honey, pear and apple. The taste is sweet orange, tangy marmalade, peach, nectarine, sulphur, honey, alcohol warmth, dough and hay, with a dry finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Not bad.
