COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This tawny coloured ale is secondary fermented in the bottle. Made from fresh quality water, malt, hops and yeast, it is a strong ale with a wonderfully rich aroma and flavour of fruit cake, treacle and plum.

A Mes rate: Bottle at RBESG. Chestnut colour with a small off white head. Nice balance but predominantly sweet and malty with some smoky, peaty notes. Spicy finish with just a hint of the otherwise well hidden alcohol.

Bottled at rbesg07. Aroma is yeasty, fruity, sweet pale malts, and hints of floural hop. Taste is similar, noteably fruity and yeasty, sweet berry fruity. However perhaps a bit unbalanced.

Dark brown colored, little light brown head. Strongly hopped aroma with some biting, still positive glue tones. Medium bodied. Flavor is better with vegetable abd biting carbonation, reminds me of some Danish brews. Good beer.

Bottled (Thanks GarethYoung!). Small head, hazy brown colour. Aroma is plum, flowery hops and some malts. Flavour is the same along with some big acidic notes. Also some yeast, bread and slightly smoked notes can be found.

Hazy nut brown color, small white head. Yeasty, slightly toasted, chocolaty, a bit bready aroma. Yeasty ... did I already say yeasty? Some sweet roasted malts. Very difficult beer to rate.

UPDATED: JUL 6, 2007 Bottled. Cloudy dark brown. Sweet, rather yeasty and fruity. Medium-full bodied with caramelly roasty malt, some melon, some soap and a whiff of smoke. Fairly clean mouthfeel. Salty finish.

(Bottled) Muddy darkish amber with almost no head. Malty, licorice-tarry and yeasty aroma with some alcohol. Neutral-malty, pretty roasty, yeasty flavor with licorice and some ashiness. Medium-bodied, medium-carbonated. Got the yeasty part of the bottle, so might be even better.

[Bottle from Brewery] Deep brown with some ruby tinges and a dense moderate head which maintains a thin layer. Aroma of chocolate, treacle, molasses, fruity character, tobacco. Full, firm body, some sweetness, vinous character, a little alcohol comes through in the finish.

Pours opaque drak ruby with porous head that quicky dissapates to nothing bar a thin line round the edge of the glass. . No lacing to speak of. Big tarry, treacle nose with discernable alcohol. Mouthfeek is thin, but flavour builds. Reminds me strangely of vodka/coke. Alcohol is definitely present. Slightly smoky, definite chocolate and tar flavours but remains really ripe and fruity. Flavor lasts but quickly disintegrates with more tar and ashtrays to finish (but still a hint of something more fruity).
