The head is robust, the body black. It smells robust, sweet, and a bit alcoholic-creamy. The taste is sweet, roasty, coffee, oat, darkmalty. Ok but could be a bit more intensive. 11/11/10/10/12/10
3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 bartlebier (523) - Baden-Württemberg, GERMANY - MAY 27, 2013
Bottle pour@4th Festival der Bierkulturen Köln 25/05/2013. Upfront in this unidirectionally satisfying basic stout: Butterscotch bourbon chocolat. Elegantly forward hop bitterness, complemented by some decent wood. Vanilla and raisin. No abv apparent, great rounded, full oatmeal stout, nothing too imperial though.

ersma: mit haferflocken gebraut. also eigentlich müsli.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 FatPhil (7597) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAR 8, 2013
330ml bottle (Alko Arkadia, Helsinki)
RIch burnt liquoricey and marmitey aroma. Quite light in the mouth, refreshing carbonation, no heaviness at all for something with so much roast and 7% alcohol. Basically black, and a brief beige head. which settles to a ring. BUt that’s not light as in lacking flavour, in fact it’s a very pleasant full roast, and marvelously melly - a soft comforting pillow of roasted malts, I love what the oatmeal bringe to bears like this. Great burntness, it’s definitely heavily roasted but is utterly devoid of all sharpness, acidity, or astringency. Drinkability high, no sign of any alcohol at all. Not saying big at all - great balance, great poise.

Mild malty and coffeyish nose. Pale brown head. Dark black reddish color. Slightly sweet malty bitter taste with some coffee notes. At the end hops bite. Good well balanced Stout.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 n0mel (250) - FINLAND - JAN 20, 2013
31.12.12. Bottle. Light brown, medium sized foam. Black. Aroma is chocolate and coffee, very pleasant. Taste is great; creamy coffee and chocolate. Smooth mouthfeel. Aftertaste bitter and roasted. Nice beer that I would have again. (don’t know exactly why RB calls this an imperial stout, I did not expect that)
