£1.70 from Tesco for 500ml:
Biscuit and grain with a grassy hops aroma and a few malts thrown in as well. It is quite floral and refreshing with a few mild fruits and a little citrus too.
Golden colour with a centimetre tall, bubbly white head on top and a clear body. Retention is not bad, it only reduces a fraction in the opening minutes.
Biscuit malts, grassy hops and some light apple to begin, there is also some grain and grassy hops in there along with some mild fruit and a touch of citrus from the nose.
Medium bodied with carbonation about the same, the beer is refreshing and it feels slightly creamy too with a light bitter finish.

A nice lager taste with some light malts and a few fruits coming through as well that managed to give it a little bit of depth and something slightly different. This was one that went down fairly well and would make a good session lager.

500 ml bottle. 4.5%. Lot #136. BBE 03/13. (Prisma) Tampere, Finland. Cloudy golden colour with small to average sized greyish white head. Piney and citrusy hops and malt in aroma. Flavour is mildly citrusy and grassy hoppy and balancing malty. Mild bitterness. Quite alright. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500ml bottle (K Kamppi, Helsinki) at 4.5%
Initially quite a nice grainy aroma, reminds me of some of the Lithuanian micro lagers (some of which also have some hybrid aspects). Later it gains some honey. In the mouth, it’s got even more more ale-like aspects, though still more lagery, the retronasals are packed with floral and perfumey aspects, but with a fair estery component too. It’s a slightly thin palate, but not quite watery, there’s enough to make it smooth, even though there’s quite lively carbonation - gives you quite a tingle, about which see later. The taste is fairly simple, it’s a very good tasty organic light graininess, a touch husky, some wooliness, a little earthy and yeasty too. The finish has a very nice biting bitter tingly finish. I swirled some carbonation out, and the tingle from the hops remains there just as clearly. Nice fresh hops, but alas a little thin. With the fullness of the body, I think I’d call this a Bohemian Pilsner, if I had to categorise this on RB; however, the ale aspects are enough that I could happily call this a hybrid. Very good for a lager, but still a touch watery than thin. I wonder if the 5% version’s got more balls?

Bottle 50cl, a clear yellow beer with medium head. Nose is low, aroma is on grass, almond and even massepin aromatic hops. Medium body, finish has a clean bitter finish with light orange and almond round hops. Pleasant and drinkable.

Really enjoyed this beer. Really fresh taste, great aftertaste. Wish I had bought more than one.caramel, grass. Lovely bottle.

Aroma of fresh cut grass and distinct caramel. Beautiful straw gold with lasting thin white head. Generous lacing. At first sweetish then the complexity develops. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel with average carbonation and a very long lasting delicious bitter finish. Superb lager and one of my current favorites (and it has the kudos of being organic too!)

Dewy grass and hop nose pop out of a thin bubble infused head atop a dusty lager body. Lemony squeeze on the initial taste with a stilted almost red onion bite on the palate before the neatly carbonated mouthfeel evens out to a peanut grease linger on the finish for just long enough, before the next enviable sip.

A very quaffable pint, thankfully very popular in many of Edinburgh’s mid-market pubs off keg these days - an excellent alternative to almost any lager on a bar’s roster on keg. Nobles Black Isle Total Tap Takeover - Keg, Nobles Café Bar, Edinburgh
