2.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught. Half pint. London. Pours a slowly off white head which never settles. Amazing. Aroma of little to vanilla. Portery taste. Chalk. Chocolate. Not too much in there.

Keg - Fat Cat & Canary, Norwich. An opaque brown with a fine, lasting creamy tan head. Roasted malts and some choccy sweetness initially but otherwise quite tangy, particularly on the tongue. Red, dark fruits & berries with some liquorice. Light to medium body, crisp and firm palate texture, short bitterness & a lingeirng tang.

Off keg at rumsey wells in norwich. Quite disappointing, thin, not much flavour and too cold.

Pint @ Hootnanny, Inverness. A valiant attempt. Dark marron color, not quite black. Translucent. Good collar, lacing, beautiful beer, actually. Very light aroma, sweetbreads. Medium body, bigger palate than Guinness. Not their best, but pretty good.

Cask in the Holborn Whippet. Dark almost black colour with thin white head. Quite smooth and creamy for a porter, almost more of a thin stout I’d say. Lots of roasty coffee and malt flavours, not especially bitter. Nice.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Red quireel, Edinburgh. Very dark brown one with a frothy, but quickly diminishing beige head. Aroma of chocolate, sweet roasted malt, light smokey notes plus a bit of tar. Taste is sweet roast with licorice-notes and a malty bitter finish. Medium-bodied, liggt oily texture, low in carbonation. Impressively flavorful for the abv.

UPDATED: JUL 6, 2012 On tap in Dundee, Scotland... Lovely beer! Pours a deep dark red colour with a thick creamy brown head. Tastes brilliant, goes down well! Choco/liquorish taste, thick black body, soft and spicy taste with a roasted aftertaste... very enjoyable!

Keg at the Draft House Tower Bridge. Poured black-brown and very creamy with a big nitro-type head that took quite a while to settle. Some choc on the nose, initially smooth on the palate but then with a little red fruit sweetness and some dry roasty mocha coming through. Slightly sweet and tart on the finish.
