Tap at Defectors Weld, Shepherds Bush. Pours a coca cola colour with an off white head. Aroma is pretty toasty, with coffee and dark fruit. Medium to light body. It's lemony, a bit toasty, with a bitter finish. Not much to this, really. OK.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Bottled) Resembles a glass of diet cola with a flaky beige head. dark fruit vibes from the smell of things , i get dark cherry and raisin.Obvious toffee. roasted malts -licorice too. To drink this stuff you get a bitter sweet beer -with a slightly thin watery palate, that’s a shame because there is a deep character on opening ,rich toffee -with a winey texture to things but this finishes disappointingly thin for me.

(bottle, as Black Isle Organic Porter, 4.6% abv) Dark brown colour with a medium-sized and tanned foamy head. Slightly tarry roast-malty aroma with notes of dark chocolate, mocha and a subtle berry-fruity touch. Moderately roast-bitter and delicately sour flavour, light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Quite dry roasty malt character with notes of dark chocolate and coffee; dry and moderately roast-bitter finish with notes of coffee and a tinge of berries. Decent Porter. 11.VIII.13

Pours out of the bottle in a unclear dark brown / blackish colour with low head and medium to thin body. Nose of bittersweet chocolate and croissant. Taste of bitter unsweetened espresso, strong coffee, nuts and malt. Hints of brown sugar. Finishes quite dry and bitter but definitely tasty and nice.
