A very lively bottle bought at a Real Food store in Edinburgh. Light-brown, dense head over a jet black body with a russet tint. Firm smell of coffee and chocolate. Taste of sweet dark malts, slightly roasted and spiced. Nuts and bitter dark chocolate towards the ending. A bit too light in the mouth [hotel room, 24.10.2008].

Cask at Jeremiah´s Taproom Edinburgh on the 11/08/2016. Dark brown colour with a small disappearing brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee and smoked chocolate. Taste is dry and sweet with roasted malts and coffee. Dry and intense coffee aftertaste. Next one please!

UPDATED: MAY 23, 2016 Bottle at home bought from the brewery shop. Fairly light for a porter with subtle pleasant flavours and mild bitterness. Growing on me as I write. Very enjoyable.

Bottle at Qbrick. A cola black pour with a thick beige head and a soft cocoa and oats aroma. Medium to light bodied with a sweet bitter dark chocolate and honeyed oats flavor. Surprisingly good.

On Black Isle Once again a good beer from Black Isle In my opinion just a little bit not enough sweet. Coffee, roasted malts, raw chocolate

Cask. Pours a very dark chestnut brown with a thick creamy stable head. Aroma is coffee, burnt toast and roasted malts. Taste is the same perhaps with a little earth and peat.
