An amber colored ale, Black Isle Red Kite is brewed using only the highest quality Maris Otter pale and crystal malts for flavor and body. Challenger hops for bittering with the late addition of Styrian Goldings creates a balance of quenching citrus and malt, and a classic aromatic finish to this refreshing ale. This beer is bright amber with a toasted nut flavor and powerful orange fruit aroma.

This is an exceptionally good session beer--really one if the best I've ever had. It's packed with hops flavor without having to rely simply on bitterness to mask what can often be a lack of maltiness in low- gravity beers as this beer has a nice balance providing a full flavored drinking experience without relying on a huge grain bill. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Bought at Tesco, St Andrews. Low carbonation and timid aroma. Reddish in colour giving the impression of a red ale. OK enough to drink to quench ye ole tirst but a bit weak.

Robe ambrée, assez foncée. Prédominance des saveurs caramels, sans subtilité en bouche. Une bière sans intérêt.

Appearance is a deep bronze colour. Smell is red berries and caramel. Taste is smooth, quite sweet with mild bitter finish. Decent session ale but nothing remarkable.

Bottle courtesy of Nick. shared at Nick and Anna’s, Quidish, South Harris, Monday 15th June 2015 Pours reddy/brown with an off-white head. Malty and fruity but rather indistinct beer, in fact a rather boring effort from a producer who I thought usually did much better. Nothing wrong with it but at the same time very little right with it. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov11 2.9

500ml bottle pours a clear reddy brown with foamy off white head that soon fades to cap. Nose is really nutty, chestnuts, hazelnuts, roasted barley and some treacle toffee. Very malty taste with a bit of oakiness and the nuttiness is still there. Nice bitter finish but again its a nutty bitterness. Nice.
