3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is an exceptionally good session beer--really one if the best I've ever had. It's packed with hops flavor without having to rely simply on bitterness to mask what can often be a lack of maltiness in low- gravity beers as this beer has a nice balance providing a full flavored drinking experience without relying on a huge grain bill.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear red beer with a foamy head. Light fruity aroma. The flavour is light, crisp and zesty with a creamy, malty aftertaste. It’s not the strongest-tasting, most distinctive beer but it’s quite pleasant.

Caramel, nuts, hint of roasted malt and some fruit and berries in the aroma. Dark mahogany body with a off white head. Medium sweet and medium bitter. Light to medium body with a average carbonation. Dry and a bit bitter finish. Overall a nice bitter.

500ml bottle. Medium sweet from the malt, both caramel and syrup. Balanced by aromatic and medium bitter hops. Good off white head and lacing. A very good ale.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
500ml dark bottle abv4.2% b@Kilpishalli Finland.
Beige head that makes a little bumpy layer on the slightly hazy bronze body.
Scents of spruce, fruits, sweet roasted malts.
Tastes sweet malts, a roasted touch, some fruity hops under it, fresh.
Fresh and gentle to palate, only slightly watery.
Ends with the malts, the fruity hops, some bitter notes, and some outdoors barbecue feeling. Fresh and not very strongly bitter at all.

Thanks to Seanyfo. The beer is read in the glass with a beige, slightly nut-brown head. It starts very smooth. Caramel, malt and nicely hopped. The mainpart is smooth, not too sweet, bitter-dry, highly drinkable and deep in aroma. The aftertaste is long, malty-bitter, Bitter-typical, slightly bitter-sweet. Smooth. Very nice!

Got it on Christmas’ Day, good balance but too easy and light in the body, not Black Isle’s best.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle in a restaurant/wine bar, Church st, Inverness. Dark browny orange pour with an off white head. Malty nose with some vague fruity notes. Similarly uninspiring flavour that is just about redeemed by a little hop presence. Really nothing special though.

Bottle. Amber, hazy, small to average and fully diminishing head. Moderate malty and sweetish aroma, some caramel and berry fruitiness, faint hoppyness. Body is light to medium, malty and sweetish flavor, caramel and berry fruitiness, light bread and light hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and sweetish, some caramel and light berry fruitiness, light bread and light herbal hoppyness. Bit watery bitter with notes of bread. Berry fruitiness with caramel just do not work for me.
