Bottled, Pasteurised.
An amber colored ale, Black Isle Red Kite is brewed using only the highest quality Maris Otter pale and crystal malts for flavor and body. Challenger hops for bittering with the late addition of Styrian Goldings creates a balance of quenching citrus and malt, and a classic aromatic finish to this refreshing ale. This beer is bright amber with a toasted nut flavor and powerful orange fruit aroma.

after being recommended this beer from staff at the bottle shop i was left expecting more quite a strong earthy malty taste going on with a hint of citrus at the end

Bottle. Caramel nose, with pale malts, spicy hopping, all quite fruity. Bright reddish/copper color. Toasty malt initial, mild fruitiness (apples and raisins), light citrus. Thin body. Very nice, mild flavors.

Deep ruby in the glass with a cream head. Bright floral aroma. On tasting the floral hops gives way to sweet, smokey caramel followed by a very dry finish. Nice.

One of my favourite Black Isle brews. Tawny/ruby in the glass, nice frothy head, heavy malt bringing an instant sweetness. Slight burned toast aftertaste, but quite pleasant. Very easy to drink. Good all-year round too: nice on Xmas day as well as in the garden during summer. One of my favourites at the moment....

Bottle purchased from Ocado, drunk at home. Russet with little to medium off-white head. Lots of carbonation. Peppery and slightly resinous hop aroma. Fruity bitter with a touch of sweetness in the taste. The finish and aftertaste are more bitter, with redcurrant notes and a bit of cooking chocolate. Pretty darn tasty.

50cl bottle from Tesco, Cannonmills, Edinburgh. reddish copper pour with a fading cream head; musky fruit aroma; some tart fruit to start, then a caramel sweetness; and a malty finish with a light herbal bitterness.

Bottle. Pours redish. Hint of malt aroma, sweet caramel malt flavors, very light carbonation. Just a hint of hop.

Pours a beautiful garnet with a firm ivory head. Aroma is heady caramel, creme brulee, and earthy hops. Taste is toffee, dates, and spice. Medium body, syrupy mouthfeel. Decent.
