Ungstrup (11692), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 17, 2007 Bottled. A murky orange-brown beer with a white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel and yeast. The flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, leading to a slightly bitter finish. The body is thin. harrisoni (5474), Ashford, Kent, England May 19, 2007 500ml bottle bought at Ealing BF 2007 from the Realale.com stand and drank on the train home. Brown/russet, lasting beige head. Minerally red ale aroma. Some red fruit, creamy aroma. Touch of vanilla. Burst of red fruits in mouth. Really quite malty too. This beer is all aobut the red malt fruit, but there is a decent hop finish to balance it. The malt is a little biscuity too. Alright our kid. duff (5407), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Jul 8, 2005 Bottle. Quite nice, soft mouthfeel. lightly sweet, with slightly nutty characters and some light berry red berry fruit, nice, easy drinking ale, well balanced. Maria (4725), Thisted, Denmark Apr 2, 2007 Fall 2004 sour, infected. August 05 on tap in the brewery, microscopic glass. Aroma of caramel, fruit and hops. Rather harmonic flavour with weak notes of citrus, honey and flower. A nice red-golden beer. August 05 bottle at home. Nice mahogany color, nice head. The aroma is sour (not citrus) just like the flavour, but luckily notes of roasted malt, caramel, fruit, citrus hides it rather well, nice bitter finish. JorisPPattyn (4638), Antwerpen, Belgium Oct 16, 2005 Orange-amber, well carbonated; fluffy, creamy, whipped eggwhite head, off-white. Good, no excelltent nose of noble British hops, bottled but smelling like a best cask bitter. Slightly smoked, faint bitterish flavours superposed one a sweetish malt taste. I somehow get some oats or buckwheat notes. Smooth, but not really refreshing, lively impression, bit fizzy even. Quite nice ale. Like it, even when not tried in ideal circumstances. Hurray for the Caledonians at Ratebeer!
