from Bier-Bienne - pours a cloudy dark brown beer with a solid beige foam; toasted aroma of toffee, biscuit and brownies; a solid malt body, very tasty and with some sweetness, low bitterness and a long malty and biscuity finish

Pours dark copper with red hues of light shining through. Small head recedes very fast. Love the rich caramel nose. Some butterscotch and light chocolate as well. Flavor is sweet up front with a good balance that comes through more in the end. Mouthfeel is sharp yet creamy. Long bitter aftertaste. Not bad.

In bottle. Deep ruby ale with a thin beige head. Aroma of caramel, treacle and toffee. Similar flavours with some grassy hops to finish. Alcohol is fairly present. Foamy mouth-feel. Little sweet linger. OK.

Bottle brought back by a friend. Clear red/copper pour with a thick tan head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel and a bit of peat. Sweet caramel flavor with a touch of diacetyl and some peat in the finish.

Bottle. Aroma is fairly mild, nutty malt. Reddish brown with a thin foamy off-white to light tan head. Nice malty flavor that seems a little too subdued. Full bodied and creamy with a mild dry roasty bitterness that lingers lightly.

500ml, bottle conditioned, bought at Cornelius in Edinburgh (bb. March 09). Pours a slightly foggy, amber body with a red tint. Topped by a dense, beige head. Has got a rather pleasant aroma of herbal sweetness, with underlying malt and citrus. The flavour does not follow the inviting smell, it tastes like an unsuccessful blend of grain, malt and peaty fruits. Short and discreet bitter tail. Dry in the mouth, but diluted texture (shared with Eva at home, Tromsø 05.02.2009).

Hazy, deep orange in colour with a thin little white foam that all but disappears. Very sweet on the nose, a little sickly for me. Really sweet and fruity. Not picking up anything hoppy at all really just the sweet, sweet malts. Smooth but a little thin for me. Altogether i find this way too sweet for my tastes. Its flavours are thrown off by it.

Botella. Hazy orange colour. Sweet fruity and hoppy aroma. Good mouthfeel. The flavour has a pleasant frutiness with malt and bitter hops. Mild bit sweet fruity dry finish.

Bottle, 4.5%. Good vinous and sweet caramelly aroma. Hint of spicy aroma hops. Hazy amber colour. The flavour is nice and sweet, some sweet hoppiness, hint of spices, cinnamon. Sweet citrus fruits.
