@ Dagda Bar. Amber, bright. The aroma is very toasty. Soft body with some caramel and a light honeyish toastiness. Competent beer, but boring.

@ Dagda, Edinburgh. Thankfully not over-sparkled. Clear amber with stable head. Brisk herbal hops in the subtle aroma. Some toffee. Nutty, sweet palate. The flavors are toffee, bland brown bread, sweet with no discernible hop character. Is boring as hell.

Bottle at Aviemore YH. Pours a clearish golden with a white head. Sweet with heavy aromas of citric hops. Also some malt aromas. Tiny hints of metals towards the end. Medium to high carbonation. Medium bodied. Long, quite bitter finish with more hops aromas. Hints of diacetyl in the very late finish?

bottle from the Morag hostel bar in St. Augustus - Pours hazy yellow with a big, fluffy white head. It has an aroma of mild bready malt and grapefruit accented hops. The flavor is of mild hops, grapefruit, and bread, and is fairly sweet. It’s okay but the body is a little light and it could use more hop character.

hophop (26) - SCOTLAND - MAY 13, 2010
Another terrible example from this ramshackle brewery. I’d heard they’d made some progress but this was another disaster. Hazy golden colour, gassy head that collapsed immediately and screaming diacetl nose. Flavour dominated by diacetyl obscuring any hop character. Two mouthfulls then down the drain I’m afraid.

Huge offwhite shiny head. Deep yellow body with carbonation. Fruity floral herbal aroma is very harmonic with strawberry notes. Dry-sweetish linoleum straw and flowers taste with herbal notes. Light body. Mild mouthfeel. Dry floral strawy aftertaste. Nice, mellow, very drinkable, quite interesting. (0.5l bottle, RealAle.com.)

UPDATED: APR 20, 2010 Bottle from The Wine Cellars, Lutterworth. Briliant orange-gold, tufting white head. Lavish sweet cashew and lychee aroma; flavour follows on with the expected fresh creamy malt and juicy tropical hop; hints of Darjeeling, cashews and fresh bread paired deliciously with bittersweet lychee and mandarin hoppiness, just how I like it. Nothing fancy or complex, but the freshness of malt and hop flavours is astonishing from a filtered bottle. Going back for some more of this: easily the best organic beer I’ve ever had, and one of the best bottled British beers, full stop. Delicious. 848417....UPDATE; 2 fizzy, uninteresting, faintly soapy bottles later, the memory of that 4.1 is fading fast...373714

Bottle at home on 3rd December 2009. Pours gold with thisk, lasting foamy yellow-white head. Splendid hop aroma with floral, citric and fruity notes. A beautifully hoppy main kick with grassiness and peppery notes and a dry finish. All slightly rounded by a subtle malty undertone. A fine, well-crafted bottled ale, amongst the best I have tasted in some time.
